Yawn.

Not surprising.

The real question is will the masses want to buy a car that's more expensive then the competition and looks like the previous gen which is already long in the tooth.

When it originally came out it was nice now it's just commonplace...

"That styling—with its narrow slits for side windows, fat C-pillar, and short rear glass—has, indeed, done nothing to improve the outward visibility in this new car. It is abysmal."

Agreed.

All the other mags have said that the visibility has improved a ton.

3.9 seconds from Car and Driver.......This Base Camaro just might have a chance of beating the GT 350 after all.
i dont think so.to see that everything is legit, they should dyno the cars both mustang and Crapmaro to see the power being made.we know that chevy sends out Ringer cars.:D

Competition is good. Time for Ford to go all out in return. More aluminum, carbon, and more power. Maybe some new engine and transmission options.

They will wait, if the Camaro retakes the sales lead, they'll probably do something, but I'd imagine it'll be a couple years

The new Camaro looks awesome imo. Not crazy about the back end still. I'm sure its a blast to drive. I thought the weight distribution would have been more even though. It looks more and more likely that they did in fact make the weight loss claims. I'd still like to see someone scale it themselves. But at this point I believe GM.

The GT is still a great car and a great buy. This is like 2010 to me. GT got a face lift but didn't get much faster and SS was reborn with the LS3. Then the next year, bam 5.0. 16 or 17 Ford will strike back.

Still gotta give props. Auto SS vs Auto GT seems to be a significant edge to the Camaro fro 1/4. Manual vs Manual will be a little closer and be your best bet for making up for the straight line disadvantage with your own driving skills.

Stop light to stop light, verdict won't be out until there on the road. And there wont be as many modded ones out there for a little while. GT street racers, you'll be just fine.

I really do not care about the Gaymaro or how quick it is. The looks do nothing for me. The only Chevy I ever really liked was the Chevelle SS.

I LOVE the looks of the Ford Mustang GT and it's got plenty of power.

Looks are subjective but the Camaro looks a lot nicer in person. The GT350 still has the edge in looks though.

Anyone catch this part from Automobile? Not sure if it's rumors, I mean two more Camaro models have been spotted testing, assumed to be the 1LE and ZL1.

And the play isn’t over. Stay tuned for Act Three: Chevy in 2017 will release an all-new Camaro ZL1 sporting a supercharged, 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 probably making close to 600 hp. Start saving for your g-suit now.

My guess is Ford will make some engine changes, including a significant bump in power to the 5.0 and perhaps the 2.7EB in place of the 3.7

But I think the biggest change we'll see is all aluminum bodies (2018MY) to drop weight, just like the F150.

So it can stop and handle good too, who would have thought. Mustang on top, Camaro on the bottom courtesy of Car and Driver. Mustang was an auto.

While the Camaro times are impressive, you quoted C&D's time with a non PP car. The PP one is a lot closer.

Zero to 60 mph: 4.5 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 10.4 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 17.8 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.9 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 9.6 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 9.0 sec
Standing ÂĽ-mile: 13.0 sec @ 113 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 164 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 149 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.95 g

It does look this Camaro hooks up and goes. Chevy is doing a good job with their launches.
