Went to the track Wednesday night. Very first pass off the highway I cut a 1.72 60' on my MPSS running to an [email protected].

Next pass was a [email protected] with a 1.81 60'. Spinning a bit.

Tuner logged my runs, found an area where we were missing a lot of timing.

Next pass, COMPLETELY bombed the launch. Just a fail moment. 2.2 60', but 118.75 trap after the tune changed. I was unsure about the trap due to the spinning. Could be a false high.

Last pass of the night, prep went to shit, so I played it safe on the launch. Nice smooth 1.93, probably could have been more aggressive, but I wanted that 11.8x pass. Buuuuut...blew the tires away on the 1/2 shift, killing my 1/8th mile. But the timing change resulted in a 119.8 trap! Ended up with a [email protected] with a 1.93 60. I was worried about a false-high trap, but the tune change was a very noticeable change in power. (We added about 7* of timing from 4-6k RPMs.) Same ET as my 117 trap pass, but with a .12 slower 60' lol.

2016 Performance Pack. SP Longtubes, locally done Flex Fuel tune, PMAS CAI. Stock sized MPSS tires. 4009lb race weight.

Are you willing to share what kind of timing you are seeing at peak?

It's allowed to add up to 30. Usually hangs out in the 28/mid-29* range at WOT.

That's probably some of the best manual trans driving I've seen on street tires. Any suspension work?

On quality e85 at WOT you can hold 31.5-31.9 5k- redline

We seem to have just gone to winter blend here already. Only getting around E60-65 or so. Normally have no issue getting at least E70-77. I might see if he will bump it up a bit more and let the car add more timing if it can.

He went through the logs from the track and found a few more things he wants to tweak. He's thinking he can get another .5-1mph out of this pig while still being safe. We are going to play with VCT a bit more. We haven't messed with it since I put the headers on. We aren't sure VCT stuff will change much, but we are going to play with it. The dyno we have access to is down right now, so it's track passes.

Its nice to see another good driver to add to the other couple of handfuls here. Most struggle to get 1.7s even on slicks and radials which should be cake. Gateway is a garbage track so you did really well. I dont miss that track at all.

Yea. NHRA was here last weekend. It was downhill all night. That 1.93 was at the edge of traction.

Gateway International has never been a fast track. Its almost like it holds in humidity. Ive heard its improved last time i was in town visiting family. I was told its under new ownership and the strip was completely repaved. It was a long time coming. Sadly it hasnt helped as much as people hoped from what old local friends tell me. Still good on you for doing so well despite how crappy that place is. I swear GI is one of the slowest tracks ive ever raced on, and ive raced on a lot of them.

It's just st Louis humidity lol. The track is only 410' above sea level so air can get good here when it dries out. It's not Atco or MIR, but it's not the worst.
