Hi everyone! I am brand new to the forum, and only started coming here recently when I was considering trading in my 2008 GT/CS for a 2015 Mustang GT!
Thank you for all of your help in securing my decision to buy one.
Katie is a Raven Black performance pack, 50 years edition with the Pro Shaker system. I think the only option she doesn't have is the Recaros because they were mutually exclusive to the 50 year leather?
At any rate, I was so frustrated by the ordering process for a new Mustang (DECEMBER, REALLY Ford???) I just set out to buy one off the showroom floor somewhere. That, as it turns out, is actually harder than it sounds.
Well, finally, I got it done.
I apologize for my terrible photograph ability. It's an iPhone 6 and I didn't have the chance to go to a nice place to take photos of her. So I apologize, the scenery does not do her justice.
Having owned a classic Mustang for years, I was struck with how close the 2015 feels to driving a 1968 in the best of ways: The long, burly hood and the low dash. The seating position is also reminiscent of my '68 and worlds away from the 2008's position.
The body panels do not show gaps and the fit/finish seems to be spot on.
I, like many people, am not a real fan of the PP wheels. I think that they obscure the Brembo brakes and seem "busy".
I do not share most folks' hatred of the Pro Shaker system. I am not an audiophile, though, so maybe that's why it seems more than adequate for my needs. None of the "muddiness" comes through to my untrained ears.
Also, is it just me, or does the front sit just a BIT higher than the rear on these cars (like the 99-04?). My '08 didn't have that stance problem.
On the list is tint and a clear "bra" for the front. My 08 was plagued by rock chips in the front from a lot of freeway miles...
Anyway, happy to be here, and wanted to share how amazing it feels with her at home. I am so excited to drive her every day, and the attention the car gets rivals only my old '68.
Can't even go to a gas station without someone going crazy over it!
You guys are great and I can't wait to be a part of 6g for a long time to come!
