I noticed a few cars that are running fast withe the paxton are running without a filter. Does anyone know how restrictive the factory inlet is. It looks fairly restrictive. am trying to make the choice of paxton or procharger. I like the pro charger inlet better but it makes me wonder why they mounted the paxton on top in the front.

Paxton is designed to use the factory airbox, the JLT will open it up more

No matter paxton or procharger, at the track we run an open blower

That seems like a bad idea. Don't you worry about dirt or teach hurting the engine or charger?

Race guys that rebuild their motors ever few thousand miles anyway don't care. I'd never run with no filter.

It could but a couple quarter mile runs shouldn't be a huge issue it is not like the inlet is sticking out of the front bumper bird catcher style. I definitely wouldn't street drive with no filter but at the track it should be fine.
