Howdy, just passing along the info that Tire Rack has some sets left of the Continental CONTIFORCE CONTACT at Blow out pricing. I just picked up a set 305/30/19"s for $823.00 **total** shipped to my door. I am using these with the R replica wheels for cooler winter temps and potentially rainy/wet applications . .

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...CFCXLOLD&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

The tires are from 2012 but I spoke in length with Tire Rack about their storage procedure and they alerted me the tires have a 6 year warranty from date of installation.

Just passing the word on, don't shoot the messenger OK? :paddle:

Wait Continforce Contacts in the winter...? Those are basically competition level tires. Are you sure you didn't mean like ExtremeContact DWS's or WinterForces?

Ok, Winter is not snowy nor icy where I am @. I ran MPSS's all winter / fall and was just fine on my Boss 302. Maybe a more appropriate title would have been - "Alternative to CUP 2 tires if you plan on driving your car in the rain sometimes or under 45 deg. temps during non Summer days"

Would that have been better?

Don't get a square tire setup on a nonsquare wheel set.
I did thorough research and talked to my shop . . . I'm all good (I know everyone is an expert right?)

Again - I am not tracking the car w/these tires. This is so I can actually drive the car to/from shows, some road trips here/there. If someone is looking to install non CUP 2's on the R. . . or get some great priced 19's and install after market wheels - just letting you know these Continental's are priced very low.

What a coinkidink.... my set arrived today: 305/30 and 325/30 19's.... for my 6GR wheels. :D

These are summer/dry high performance tires... not for daily driving since it'll wear fast in no time if you do.

I ended up doing the same set up now, 325's in the rear and keeping the 305's in the front. Need4Speed / 6GR said either would work just fine . . I guess I overlooked going to 325's cause of the std. 315 size. . Live / Learn, great deal nonetheless on the tires. .

My point is that with a square tire setup on wheels of varying widths, you will end up having a 30-series sidewall in the front and a lower sidewall profile in the back.

Conti DWS or bust! :)
DWS is fine for leisure or even daily driving including wet weather.... but come spirited high-performance driving (let alone the track) I'd recommend to be extra careful since they don't dry grip even close to the way MPSS does. They'll squeal when pushed and will understeer hard and/or break traction without much effort. I had the DWS on my C7 Z06 for street use only and wouldn't dare push it past 7/10ths with those tires.

DWS is not a snow tire. You need either Blizzaks or Dunlop winter 3d sport. Snow tires usually have 10/32" thread, very soft when touched, and have a very different thread pattern.

Those tires you got will not really allow you to drive in snow/ice conditions. I wouldnt go out in bad weather.

Will the 305/30-19's be a good track tire for stock gt350 wheels?

Those contis will likely not be much better in sub 45* temps, even if no snowy.

Very soft summer compounds get very hard in moderate temps (50* and below) and thus traction is very limited.
