fionic nice updates, but I think "12v Powerpoint Timeout (No Timeout)" could be a bit misleading. It times out almost immediately with that setting, "no timeout" could easily be taken to mean that it stays on indefinitely.
Good point.

Okay, so doing my best guesswork on the digital speedometer.

This is probably in the IPC (720) somewhere if it exists at all.

The attached image below has all the lines where my as-built 17 GT Base w/PP & 6MT (blue) differs from a GT350 (green)

AngelDeath tried messing with 720-07-01 with no joy (I think?)

I'm guessing that the idea to look at 720-07-01 came from the F150 side, since certain settings there can make their digital speedo disappear. But that location seems to do a *lot* more on the F150's. There doesn't seem to be much going on there in our cars in 720-07-01.

720-06-01 on the other hand seems to have a lot going on, and I think (???) we know that the fifth hex digit controls whether the diff and transmission temps show up in the center display. 0 is both of those off (as it is in my car) and 9 is both of them on (as it is in the example GT350.)

If nobody beats me to it, I'm going to play around with the values in 720-06-01 and see if a digital speedo doesn't magically appear.

if you have the time, try matching 06-01 to the gt350 exactly. be interesting to see if any additional options will appear in IPC (even though they may not be functional).

I will probably try that first.

Some more digging, I compared an EB base, my GT Base, a GT Premium, and a GT350 - all 2017's with 6MT.

In the IPC, here are the hex digits where the GT350 is different and the other three are identical to each other:

720-01-02 xxxx 0xxx - GT350
720-01-02 xxxx 1xxx - Others

720-02-01 xxxx xxx0 xxxx - GT350
720-02-01 xxxx xxx4 xxxx - Others

720-04-01 xx1x xxxx xxxx - GT350
720-04-01 xx0x xxxx xxxx - Others

720-06-01 xxxx 9xxx xxxx - GT350 (Trans & Diff Temp on?)
720-06-01 xxxx 0xxx xxxx - Others (Trans & Diff Temp off?)

720-06-02 0xxx xxxx - GT350
720-06-02 4xxx xxxx - Others

720-07-01 xxx1 xxxx xxxx - GT350
720-07-01 xxx0 xxxx xxxx - Others

Also, here is 720-06-01 to be pondered over. Blue = GT Base. Green = GT350. Purple = EB. Brown = GT Premium.

So, before I've even started mucking with the as-built stuff, I'm already toying around with another option in the event it doesn't work.

Folks with Focuses (Foci?) use another piece of software called ELMConfig to add cruise control to their cars. Doing this requires an actual firmware flash of the PCM, which ELMConfig is capable of.

I'm wondering if we can flash our IPC with the firmware binary from a GT350's IPC. Doing so may carry great risks as I understand it, since the IPC is apparently part of the immobilizer for some Ford cars? So if that's the case for the Mustang and you brick it you don't just lose your instrument cluster, the car is dead until it can be repaired.

Anyone else have experience with ELMConfig and flashing firmware that would like to share their thoughts?

So THIS is how we get a flat plane crank for our cars. Forscan can't flash it in there, but elmconfig can!

No joy on any of this stuff. The bytes it did let me change didn't seem to actually have an effect. I wouldn't call it all hope lost for a digital speedo, but maybe a cluster swap or reflash is the only way...

One of those GT350 lines could be the shift light on the top of the dash. Non-350's that have the light bar use it for collision warning.

so, normally the DRLs are the fins and turn signals, right? Do we have a way to just have the fins?

I have a base without any of the fancy stuff, do I have the light bar?

Also, what RPM would it turn on at? If it turns on near the GT350 redline you'd never see it in a GT.

Just the fins. Parking lights are not on by default.

I would think a tune would be needed for that one.
I haven't found a tune to fix this yet (tried Steeda and Lund so far). Wish it was this easy but I think most of these changes are for the BCM which doesn't control the engine, unfortunately.

If someone found an easy way to disable this stupid "emissions" setting that makes the revs hang, I would worship said person!

I was ready to place bets on the dig speedo being here. It even aligns with the F150 guys. But I am a bad gambler.
Spart Edit: I tried 720-07-01 xxx1 and got write fail error. Same for you?
