I'm looking into options for roof rack systems for my 16 GT. I appreciate not everyone will think this is a great idea, but it's my daily car and having a roof system would allow me to use it even more..... Only a good thing in my opinion!

Google seems to suggest that Yakima is the only option out there?

Is that right? Does anyone have experience with this system or any other one?

Photos etc welcomed :)

I can honestly say I've never seen a Mustang with a roof rack. I can't even imagine it, but good luck in your quest.

I'd love a temporary one for when I go snowboarding, Right now I put one of the back seats down and my snowboard and wife's skis fit just barely (Dog sits in the other back seat). it really limits us in the amount of stuff we can carry.

If only there were a reliable, inexpensive, simple to maintain answer to this question.
Unfortunately, back on planet reality, buying and running €10k worth of SUV is neither as convenient, nor as cheap as $500 worth of roof rack system.

Plus, I want a system for the Mustang so that I can enjoy specific experiences in it. For example at the moment I am touring through France with my family and we are using our MINI Clubman. I'd much rather be doing the trip in my GT, but would need a roof system to allow me to do it.

A friend of mine uses a SeaSucker mount on his '15 GT for his paddle boards. He loves it. I have been looking into something for transporting a kayak on mine, but that might be asking too much.

He doesn't need a GTI. Dare to be different? There are Lamborghini's with cargo racks. Why not a Mustang?

There are no connection points to the roof frame for a rack. Your only option are the types that suction cup to the paint. And those are extraordinarily expensive.

Wouldn't use this on cars without the frame over the windows. This looks like a good way to shatter the window.

Check this out.

He said he wants something for a snowboard. Ain't no way a snowboard is heavy enough to shatter the windows. This just has a strap that goes through the cabin to hold the rack down. The weight is all on the roof.
