I've got a '17 GT Premium with PP and leather (heated and cooled) seats and voice nav. But I ordered it that way. When I was looking, there was an identical car at a different dealer but the color was not what I wanted, so I told my dealer--order that but in magnetic.
I probably wouldn't have parked so close. Sometimes those jet jockeys don't really pay attention when they open up their canopies and they put a dent in your ride. And they never want to give out their insurance info when you confront them.
Last time I did a job for Uncle Vinnie, I had a similar problem. Dude must've been 6'4" if he was an inch. Had to fold him like a wet rigatoni to get him in that trunk.
Update to my install difficulties: ended up cutting the rubber boot on opposite sides so I could open it up and install the tool. Worked ok but made the shifter install much more difficult--especially tightening the screws. Managed to drop my 3mm Allen wrench down into the black hole never to...
Having trouble with my install (also posted in the transmission forum):
Rubber shift boot seems to be a different configuration than in your video and .pdf instructions. I don't see a zip tie and the boot appears to be much larger than in the video. Can't find a way to lift it out of the car...
Ok, I'm trying to install the Boomba short throw shifter on my '17 GT Premium/PP and according to the video and installation instructions, the task of removing the rubber shift boot (under the faux leather one) is a matter of lifting up and removing a zip tie.
Well maybe I got the updated...
Yes! You have a good eye. Not sure how you guessed that from my photo though.
I live about 6 miles from the park (south of Mendon) and stopped in there the other week to get some shots.
I just put my Steeda spring in last week after going about 1300 miles with the stock one. I was a bit worried I wouldn't like the switch. Turns out I love it. Much better feel and smoother shifts for me. Do it!
