Is there a way to completely disable 911 assist? Every time I get in my car my phone syncs up and it reminds me it is set to off. Is there a way to stop this so I don't have to push NO every time?

How's BB gonna getcha through 911 in the car any more than already carrying the cell phone?

From my Taurus manual:
Setting 911 Assist On
Perform the following:
1. Press the phone button to enter the Phone Menu.
2. Scroll until 911 Assist is selected.
3. Press OK to confirm and enter the 911 Assist menu.
4. Scroll to select between On and Off selections.
5. Press OK when the desired option appears in the radio display.
Set On or Set Off appears in the display as confirmation.
Off selections include: Off with reminder and Off without reminder.
Off with reminder provides a display and voice reminder at phone
connection at vehicle start. Off without reminder provides a display
reminder only without a voice reminder at phone connection.

To make sure that 911 Assist works properly:

It looks like you've got the 911 assist set with a reminder at each vehicle startup. Go into your settings and change it to off without a reminder.

I don't disagree - but some people have different logic. :)

If you're worried about BB it seems you have something to hide?

i am confused about this whole Big Brother thing. what is so extremely special about you that the government is going to use your specific 911 assist to track you. what are they going to do with this information and if they are tracking you through 911 assist, what exactly are they tracking?

check your cheese too.. the government is hiding microphones in there....

Wow, you have no idea how horridly offensive I find that false statement even though I know it's not directed toward me. Our lives belong to us and it is us, and only us, who decides how much and what parts of it should be shared to the world. That has nothing to do with hiding anything. That statement shows that you are part of the problem.
I know we live in a modern world where we have little choice but to give up certain privacies in order to obtain the life style we want.
I entertain to you that if you have nothing to hide then give me your bank account numbers, your social security numbers, home address, phone numbers, children's names and schools they attend, and anything else that anyone wants. I have as much right to be as anonymous as I can as you have to be as infamous as you want. Sorry but I truly hate that statement. It's as offensive as any racial remark could be. :frusty:
I'm stepping down from my soapbox now.

I'm just trying to figure out that logic.
The logic in this particular instance has less to do with BB than it is to avoid being pestered by yet another nagging warning.

If OP does not want 911 assist turned on for any reason, that's his business and nobody else's.

Jeep - there is a difference between "having something to hide" and "what I'm doing is none of anybody else's business".
