I hope this is the correct section to post this, so...

Curious, is there a right and wrong way to get into a Mustang?
Back in June, I bought a 2017 Mustang V8, 5.0 (not Premium Package). And, this is from a 255lbs guy, that drove a 2014 Ford Escape. Thus, I'm still getting used to the Mustang.

Most times, unless there is lots of free space in a parking spot next to me, I find it rather difficult to get in/out.

Thoughts?

I'm 6'3" and I struggle lol. Camaros are even worse.

My buddy has a near slammed e36 M3 track car with racing seats, and I have to practically roll out of the car.

Entry & Exit

Am Fluffy  so I just open the door, squat facing outward, plant my butt in the seat then proceed to move my feet inside as I twist my body around facing forward. My wife asked me why I do it that way and I said less chance of banging my head on the roof of the car as I try to get in.

Works for me. :headbang:

Im an athletic build and i just fall in right leg first in a controlled manner. Getting out i just stick out the left leg and basically do a leaning bulgarian split squat.

Getting into & out of Back Seat

This one is even harder to do. Experienced it when I tried to clean the back seats. (Don't Ask).

Nothing you can do. It's a very long and thick door which means you can only open it so far.
Try this, lower the window then get out. Once out put the window back up.
To get in, lower the windows remotely, get in and then raise the windows.

Yeah the windows being down helps. I usually put my right leg in and then slide in. Getting out it worse with the Recaros I normally turn my self around and get out that way.

I never thought I'd see a post about how to get in or out of a car, but here we are.

Since we're here, I'll just mention how I find myself grabbing for the non-existent pillar handle like on my F150. I'm not a big guy, 5'11" and 175 lbs, but I agree it's sometimes tricky to get in. Just another reason to stay in good shape I guess.

I had a customer with an Alfa Romeo 4c, makes getting into the Mustang feel like plopping on the couch at home. I'm 6' 180 and I had to fold myself to get into that Alfa, mainly to avoid touching any of the fancy carbon bits(which was every single surface) with my damned dirty ape mits.

I like the hardness of getting in and out of the car, it keeps the riff raff and old people out.
