Good job Ford! If it needs the A10, Performance Pack, drag strip mode to get the 0-60 then what bout the M6? Well tires are pretty much IMPORTANT so the M6 with the performance pack should get a very low 0-60 as well.

This should put it on par with the Camaro tranny per tranny.

The Auto v Stick war will be stepped up.
I think once you get into the era of having 10' speed autos in mid level cars, it's worth owning one even if you like manuals. Seems like the car will always have the chance to be in the right power band.

460 is a modest gain? People...

Remember the Coyote base architecture is 8 years old now with incremental improvements at a steady pace. It has increased by 12% over this time in power SAFELY by an OEM. The Zeta Camaro sat at the same power figure for effectively 6 years. What I think is more impressive though is how they're managing to crank out the SAME peak torque as an LS3 with 74 less cubic inches, albeit at a higher RPM, but still. And let's not kid ourselves, when it comes to twisting forces at peak throughout the curve, displacement will always be king...

Exactly what I thought. Modest HP/TQ improvements but a giant leap forward with the 10 speed. Curious that they are using the mag suspension to help weight transfer in drag mode. Brilliant.

Good thought...mag ride will be part of the PP I guess...oh boy...add a premium package to the set up und you'll be looking at a $45k price tag...still less than half a Porsche 911 Carrera S, lol:headbang:

I'm all about manuals but pulling paddles in a car with a well tuned ZF8 is actually fun. People say autos with paddles aren't engaging and that's usually true. But if you have enough gears where you need to understand your engine and its characteristics throughout the curve, that introduces a new dimension in driving dynamics.

For reference sake, the 1LE SS does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds
To be fair, the 1LE can only be had with the M6 and the 0-60 for the 18 is only when equipped with the 10 speed. I'd reckon the 18 Mustang is now on equal footing with the Camaro.

I guess the people betting on a conservative power bump were right.

As long as I can at least feel some difference between the power bump and drivetrain changes, that's fine, but I was hoping for something a teensy bit higher (for no very logical reason).

Tomorrow's build tool will be interesting...
