I would love to see this (when you turn up the boost) run against the Hellion and SBD cars.
We'll be bringing our A game in the next few weeks.

We've been waiting over 3 months for our CNC ported heads & custom Comp Cams to arrive, but I just got news we should be expecting everything this month.

Once the parts are here, the car will be put together for this summers events.

A little friendly competition is good, we're ready ;)

Travis, look forward to seeing how she does buddy. Glad to see the car coming together!

Land speed racing is a torture test, and we've proven that this weekend. We lost an oil pump gear under WOT yesterday. Car ran a few strong 160mph half mile passes. The turbo setup performed flawlessly and we're very happy with it so far. We'll get it fixed and continue with testing.

Is the motor okay ?
Any plans or need to run upgraded valve springs ?

What CHT and oil weight at the time?
Will try n calculate oil pump torque/ load at break.
heavier than 5w20?
Running no tstat?
Did it go near top of rpm 1st or second gear?
Starting to suspect bypass is undersized and too low pressure for higher pressures required to run heavier oils.
Any logs?

Motor is hurt.. Not sure how bad it is just yet. Definitely has rod bearing damage from the sound of things.

Not planning to upgrade springs.

10w40 synthetic
CHT was 218 At the time of the failure per the logs
Stock t-stat
Failed in 5th gear at 5400rpm

I think it's just the luck of the draw with a cast material.

Same question as well on valve springs.
Secondly, what causes for the oil gear to go bad?
There are a dozen different ideas as to what causes the failure. I think it's just a cast metal part that is at it's limit in terms of structural integrity when you increase accelerative forces and or harmonics.

We are always transparent.. No need to hide anything. The turbo kit performs flawlessly and it has no bearing on whether a pump gear will fail versus a supercharger setup or any other power adder.
