It is standard car forum procedures to build a tuner up to be the end all be all of performance modifications, and then when one little thing doesn't pan out, crush them against the rocks as a snake oil salesman.
I would have to dig a bit, but I remember when the AP came out for the...
Haven't bought the Mustang yet, still in the market for one, but I'd be lying if I said that the GM Bailout, and their decision to let me go after the bankruptcy, didn't push me away from GM products.
This didn't hury either.
E36/46/9x? I'm thinking about picking up one of the S550s to replace my E46 for fun DDing with occasional track time, and while I kinda miss having a turbo car, I'm not sure if I'll be happy down on power/up on weight.
RE050As were OEM on the Speed3. I think I got maybe 9-10k out of the first set before they were toast. I sold them on a local Mazda forum as "OEM Drag Slicks", ended up getting 100 for all for from a local drifting guy.
I had the ExtremeContact DW on the M3. Absolutely loved them for the...
A number of friends and I have driven the Toyobaru, and this has been our biggest complaint. I understand the car wasn't meant to be an M3 killer or what not...but for the price they are around here, they just don't put out enough power to make any sense. It would be fun to have as a...
My current four new car realistic short list right now is the S550, the current Focus ST, a BMW 2er, and the Lexus IS. Maybe the Gene Coupe, but not likely.
If there wasn't a S550 coming out, it would just be replaced with the S197. Ever since the introduction of the 5.0 and the LCI in...
Exactly. It just seems (and this my own unscientific observation) that the first question anyone asks about any performance car is "but can it go around turns". Does every single one have to be a Nurburgring killer?
Not that I'm in the market for a Hellcat, even if I could afford it, lulz.
Does it have to?
Don't get me wrong, I love that Ford is putting as much time in at the 'Ring as they can with the GT350, but why does everything these days have to be a corner carver? Can't we have corner carvers and big straight line monsters?
When I worked at the BMW dealership, I got to take the owners Z8 out for a few quick trips. Wasn't totally impressed by the performance, but driving car like that made you feel like a boss...
The only thing I'd say here is that hte E46 was really the last of the BMWs you could work on yourself without needing anything rediculously special. The 335i wasn't the worst to work on, but none of the people I know with E9x Ms have been doing to much DIY. I've always had this image in my...
^This right here. I'm more interested in knowing when the stock turbo hits the point of just blowing hot air, and how easy it is going to be to get a bigger snail on the car.
I'll check out the links.
I read elsewhere on here that Cobb will be playing around with the EB in the Mustang. That bodes well for the car.
I'm not trying to discredit Ford on this at all. If you had told me a few years ago that two of the cars on my four car short list would be Fords...
I haven't, and was just going of what I had heard elsewhere. Someone else in here pointed out it wouldn't be a K03 (or similar) so that makes me more hopeful.
Also, the internals on the Speed3 were forged (if in name only) and I bent a rod with bolt ons and stock boost. I'll hold off on...
It can be done with someone who knows what they are doing, and even then. There was one video a while back of a Speed3 with an intake, midpipe, and slicks pulling away from a Viper on a 1/4 track. Key words being "one video".
