  1. Tailgaters

I think this example is probably UK specific as most roads are single lane here. There's a phenomenon known as the '40 everywhere driver'. They are typically quite old and only drive at one speed no matter what. This means they tail gate the shit out of you in a residential street with a 30...

    Okay ...
  3. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

Not sure I follow, you can pick up a handling pack car, sub 1 year old with hardly any miles on for that money in the US. This one is 35k sterling!
  4. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

Final thoughts are, I wish I could get the full fat US spec Mach 1 in the UK for £45k haha
  5. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

You've just hit the nail on the head. If I need to get somewhere in any weather quickly and safely the BMW is incredible. Not dramatic at all. I think similar to your friend, Cayman GTS is on the list

I'm not sure the Mrs is going to be happy with me tying up 90 grand in a 3rd car
  7. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

That would be totally perfect in principle ^ Possibly knocking on the door of £90k however ... Now we are taking 911 S money!
  8. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

I think my perception is calibrated by my daily driver having 600hp
  9. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

Don't get me wrong, I think the Mustang Mach 1 is good, however to be great in my mind it needs the following: +100hp, NA that's headers, cams and tune or lots of ethanol (£2.60 per litre in the UK). Or a charger. £8000+ For NA or centrifugal supercharger, 4.09 gears and torsen type diff -...
  10. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

This in essence this the genesis of the thread: I'm not sure if the stock car will entertain me and I wanted to get an idea of how much it might cost to 'level up' if that was indeed true. I've never driven a manual 6 speed where you can almost hit 80 in second. Performance felt similar to a...
  11. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

My fears were confirmed sadly. I think there's a reason superchargers are very popular for this vehicle in the aftermarket. The weight and gearing is not optimal for sports car behaviour. Thank you for helping me with my discovery!
  12. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

Oh one last question... Do any of you UK guys running long tube headers with race cats have successful MOT emissions?
  13. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

I think I may struggle to spend a long trip in the Recaros :frown:
  15. Up-dated*** Mach 1 Dyno Sheets (no Forced Induction)

I was here looking for the difference between 1&3/4" headers Vs 1&7/8" on a Mach 1. Not sure if that's going to be easy to find.
  16. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

I'm absolutely getting ahead of myself as I might happen to love it right out of the box! Tangential question: Are the Recaro's suitable for bigger folks? I'm 6'3" and 240lbs
  17. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

Found someone who has basically done exactly all of the things 'missing' on the UK car! I've emailed MAP for an understanding of the costs involved.
  18. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

It would only be the 6 speed manual I would consider. We have two other cars, so fun and character are the priority attributes I'm after.
  19. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

Sadly the right hand drive cars are only making 454 hp on 3.55 gears. I'm a bit worried this will feel lethargic but will know for sure after I drive it I guess.
  20. Considering a Mach 1 [UK]

Hello just joined this forum prior to arranging a test drive of a Mach 1 in the UK. I've found a wealth of really useful info in here already. So from what I understand the EU car is watered down in the following ways from the full fat handling pack cars in the US: * Softer springs and rear...
