Pricing on Full Whipple install

Just picked up a 22 Mach 1 and was looking into what it would cost to install a Whipple Gen 5 and supporting mods. I live in the NJ and priced it out from a well reputable great mustang race shop that's been in business for ever and is very good and well recommended. Man was I shocked when the total for everything plus install was 15k!!!!! I make a very good living but I can't justify that for a secondary fun car. Instead I think I'll just get the Gt500 next. A bought a used 17 roush supercharged mustang years ago and wanted that power again, but I guess not right now!!!

How did they itemize it out?

$10,000 whipple kit
$2,250 (15 hours @ $150)
$1,000 tuning

did they throw a fuel system in there, oil pump gears, bigger heat exchanger? I could see that getting to $15,000

you could always get the ESS kit for $7000 and install it yourself with a buddy

It was heat exchanger, plugs, oil, install, tune, alot of other little things to be honest. All fair pricing but definitely not spending that much.

You CAN do it yourself. I stressed myself out doing mine last year, made it way worse than it actually was, but when I put the built engine in, installing it the 2nd time was straight forward and easy. You can do it in a weekend if you are reasonably good at wrenching. Certainly 2 weekends, and you said it's your 2nd car so you can really take your time.

If the Whipple is to expensive, I would suggest looking into a ESS G2 for I think $6000 and it looks much easier to install which should be less than $1000

You can cut $5500 off if you cut out the unnecessary extras and install it yourself.

1k in powdercoat and black covers alone! I plan on going ESS as soon as the finance minister approves.

I know it’s highly controversial but you don’t need the $400 catch can. And the Whipple kit comes with plugs.

Black Friday special and get the kit for 8000, install yourself. That’s what I did. Spend the extra 7500 on axles, tires, buy a spare motor, etc….

Whipples are easy to install. Print the directions and do it yourself.

Agree with the others. Either install yourself or get a centri and install yourself. Beefcake Racing can set you up.

If you do trade in for another car, you can add a whipple on a new mustang for $10k at the dealer and with warranty. Just a thought.
