The GT500 looks to be a great performer, but it's at least $15,000+ more expensive than the ZL1. Also, you can get a Redeye for pretty cheap with the power bucks and discounts. That's something that shouldn't be overlooked since these are fast cars that are relatively affordable so price does...
I think this is a valid point. The true market price difference between the base ZL1 and Base GT500 will probably be $15k-20K. That's not insignificant. Price wise, the base ZL1 competes more with the regular GT350.
It looks like you can easily afford it so I say go ahead and buy it if you want it that badly. The good thing about the GT350's are that they don't depreciate much so you probably won't lose much money if you sell it in a couple of years. As for new vs used, if you can save $7k+ it might be...
I wonder why the insurance would be significantly more for a new car vs a 2-3 year old car? I've never bought a new car so I have no experience with the matter. I could understand if the replacement cost was a lot more new vs used as to why the insurance rate would be much higher. I ran a quote...
You might be better off just buying a new one instead of a used one. I've heard and seen some base cars sell in the $27k range. If you could find a deal like that, it would be the way to go in my opinion. If you want the Performance Pack, then I'm sure you'd have a hard time getting one for $27k...
Thought this was interesting as the ZL1 1LE got a 7:16 time at the Ring. Edit: It appears that this has been posted in the Off Topic Section. Mods please merge the two threads or delete this one. Thanks...
Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet just got in a new ZL1. I don't know if anyone has ordered a ZL1 for under MSRP yet, but several people on the Camaro forum have said that they've ordered them at MSRP. I would think MSRP or less will be the norm since it's not a limited production vehicle and doesn't...
They sold one at MSRP (Non R) to a member on here. Are you talking about the one they have online for $67k? I couldn't tell if that was an R or non R. Non R, I assume. They've sold them at MSRP before, maybe they're getting greedy now.
I was told by a salesman at Mel Hambelton Ford in Wichita KS that they're getting in a GT350R and that they're selling it for MSRP. They've sold all of their Non R's for MSRP so far so seems like it might be true. The catch is that you have to be local in order for them to sell it to you, which...
Yes, I know that. Back in 2012, Chevy came out with the 2012 ZL1 bragging about trumping the 2012 GT500, 580 vs 550 HP. Not long after that, Ford came out with their 662 HP GT500 hurting GM's feelings. If the GT500 is already developed, the New York auto show would be a great place to hurt GM's...
It appears that the 2017 ZL1 will possibly be unveiled tomorrow. Does anyone think that Ford will soon unveil the GT500 soon to upstage the ZL1?
