I have to admit ever since I drove my friends GT I have been considering coming over to the 5.0. Went to a dealership last night but the numbers weren't something I could pay. I have a Ecoboost premium I prefer the GT premium. I just can't see going down the the base. I still like some of the "useless" features the Premium comes with.

Is the premium with no options? (auto, performance pack, etc.)?

Also, you can always head to another dealership and see if they are more willing to work with your numbers. Remember.. the dealership always profits. It's just a matter of how much.

Good luck!

It would be an auto ( can't drive stick very well ) lol, non performance package. Mine would be like my Ecoboost premium with navigation.

Shop around, might take a hit if you didn't put down a good down payment on your EB. If you will be upside down, it is probably best to just wait it out and get your car paid down some first and save if you can do both.

I am not upside down at all. I just can't swing the payments he was quoting. He wants me to drop down to a base model. If I did that I would lose my pony projector lights, SAT radio, etc.

Then either save up, go base or stick with your EB. What makes you want to go from the EB to a GT? I haven't driven a EB so I don't really know the difference.

Do you plan to race it or anything? From what I hear the low end isn't bad on the EB, if this is just going to be street driven then it might not be a big difference. But, V8 does sound a lot better.

Try Koons Ford in Baltimore, their prices are amazing and with what you would save you could probably get into a Premium in your price range!

My car is a daily driver. Very little track use if any at all. Which is why I was considering the base and just add SAT radio and navigation aftermarket. Kind of stupid but I would miss my pony projector lights lol.

Koons is the place to go if you don't mind the drive.

Get what you want. Don't make the mistake of buying something and wish you had got additional options later.

If money is an issue, go with the manual. It's like a $1500 savings! I bought mine about 4 months ago with no experience AT ALL driving manual. You can learn it in a few days, just have someone teach you.

It's hard learning at first and I experienced some regrets in the beginning, but without a doubt, I don't ever see myself driving an auto again.

My uncle took me out in his 06 GT a few years ago. I had the hardest time getting out of first gear. Once I was out of first I was fine. I just have not driven a stick since then.
