Hi there


So the revised 5.0 Coyote is getting the compression ratio boosted from 11:1 upto 12:1 matching the 5.2 Voodoo. It is also getting port and direct fuel injection to further boost power and torque whilst improving economy, as such lets guess the new power level.

1. 450HP / 415lbft
2. 455HP / 425lbft
3. 460HP / 430lbft
4. 465HP / 430lbft
5. 470HP / 440lbft
6. 475HP / 455lbft

Do you have a load of Lightning blue images or is a thread for Lightning blue as I am strongly leaning towards this colour now with white dual/single over body stripes with black pinstrips, white rocker stripes, polished wheels, lowered and the front lower bumper to have black corner splash guards, black mirrors, and optional large rear spoiler painted black. Think that will give a very aggressive looking MY18 GT that looks close to what a MY18 GT 500 would look like, shall also add a nasty bigger front splitter as well.

There is a Lighting Blue thread, but it's only got '17MY images in it at the moment.

Take a look at the first page of this thread....pretty sure these are all the photos that Ford have released of the '18, and there are some Lightning Blue ones in there......although being computer generated images, they actually look darker than Lightning.

1 point of compression should be worth +-5% that plus whatever you can gain through direct injection...460 sounds fair.

I'm going with 470/455. Good bump above the Camaro and within spiting distance of the Scat Pack/SRT's 485 which should be good enough to make them sweat going against a GT PP.

Just because the changes mean that they can get XXX more power doesn't mean that's the route they are taking. If this is the same V8 that is going to be used in the 2020 they are going to hold back some power for additional bumps. My guessing is 20-25hp increase over current model. Just enough to make things look bigger in paper.
