Sync is awful. Maybe 2.0 is better? I'm not even entertaining the thought of another Ford until they get it fixed.... It rarely pairs with my phone, none of the apps EVER work with it unless it's plugged in, then ONLY pandora will work. Doesn't show me texts or allow me to return one by voice. AND it sounds horrible. I know "it's a GT350, listen to the the FPC... blah blah brainwash" but sorry to say that GM's setup with carplay is 1000000000000000000 times better. Intuitive, all apps work, sounds amazing, does everything you want it to. Fail, Ford.

Sync works fine in my car. Always pairs with the phone via BT no problem. Calls not a problem, incoming and outgoing. Texts are not a problem whether it's synced via BT or plugged in. Can reply to texts no problem by voice. You may have to go into your settings on your phone and allow notifications in order for sync to work.

The only real difference Sync 3 v1.0 and v2.0 is CarPlay/Android Auto support. I didn't think any of the apps worked with wireless.

Sync 3 works like a champ for me. Phone connects every time, voice commands work, etc... It just works.

The phone has to be connected via cable for carplay to work. Don't know if that's an Apple decision or a Ford decision, but it is what it is. How hard is it to plug the phone in?

Voice texts won't work with an iPhone in Sync (Android phones do, however). AFAIK, it's an iPhone issue (i.e. it's disallowed), not a Sync issue.

I've read to many posts bitching about carplay on the corvette forum to believe that their implementation is any better,

I will say that I was disappointed that Google Maps doesn't seem to work with carplay (the icon does not show up on the screen) when it does work with android auto. That was all I really wanted carplay for. Oh well, I'll just run it on the phone and still get the voice prompts over the car speakers.

Apple maps work with CarPlay and Google maps works with Android Auto. Who'da thunk it :)

I have it in my 2016 Track Pack thanks to Jesse at OEMRadio, a vendor here at 6G. It simply rocks.

I'd contact him regarding any questions on it.

I'm sorry, does this mean that I can take my 2016 gt350 tech to, "someone" and get it updated? Dealerships? I would love to have a little more functionality to a few apps.

As a note I love sync, voice commands are nearly 100% spot on. Texts work everytime. It connects to my phone flawlessly and immediately. It's awesome for dictating an address all at once. I love finding Points of Interest both near and far.

This sync and even the sync in my 2011 GT is drastically superior to my wife's 2015 Lexus GS350. I do not understand how such a wonderful car can have such USELESS tech features.

Yes Google maps is superior. With Maps you are right on top of turns before it warns you.

Voice texts do work with Sync 3 with an iPhone over BT. It doesn't need to be plugged in.

Sync is awful... Fail, Ford.
  1. Update your phone
  2. Delete the Bluetooth pairing on the car and on your phone.
  3. Pair your phone and Sync again.
  4. Enjoy.

iOS 10 had some issues with some cars. Worked fine with all of mine, but at least BMW and Ford had problems. 10.1 has fixed it. If you're on Android I suspect it's the same.

Spotify works perfectly. If you get Premium you get higher bitrate. If you then go into settings and tweak the equalizer you can improve sound quality 100%.
