I just spoke with my guy at FORD and he said, for the same/similar opt car it will be no more than $3,500 more for NON R (because it come standard with more) and about $1,500 for the R....but that is just what he heard 2 weeks ago, they still have not finalized it to his knowledge...He also said he believed one of the blues is exclusive for the R, and that Ruby Red may not be for the R...sad.....we will see in a few weeks I guess..
The new base car is essentially a base+TP car at this point, so looking at 56.5k plus 3500 or less on top of that? Or would the base be around 53k? Given all the ADMs, I just cant see ford selling it for cheaper and letting the dealers profit even more when they can easily pocket that change

I will only be sour if the MSRP is indeed significantly less than a TP car, but I just dont see that happening
Even then, you'll have enjoyed the car for a year longer than a '17 buyer and that's worth something.

Base 2016 is $49,995 not $56,500... so base will be around $53k next model year.

Just to clarify...the MSRP on a base GT350 is going to be around $3,500 more than 2016?

I was hoping (and it would make sense) for the 2017 GT350 "base" to be cheaper than a 2016 GT350TP...

I won't hold my breath, but I hope it's somewhat accurate. However, that would still mean a base MSRP of around $70K for us Canadians, though...
Yep like my reply on your other post, that would translate into a $68K base Shelby for us Canucks plus of course $1650 dest/prep.

Now is the time to order your base '16 Shelby at MSRP .

Understand, but the new "base" car will essentially be a 15/16 track pack car as it sits today. Not sure why ford would throw away 3k in pure profit when there have been zero issues selling them at the current price. Dealers will by default add 3k ADM and say its the same car as the MY16 and use the excuse that MY17 is the last of them.

That refers to the soft material on the top of the door panel. I do believe it's the same as used in the Premium interior upgrade on the regular Mustang GT
Probably the same as in the Premier interior package in regular Mustangs. Soft touch material on the tops of the doors.

Thanks guys

From talking with him..I got the impression that the base GT350 (NON R) would now have mag ride, coolers as standard equip. and that new base would be $3,500 more... then you could add the opts to make it like the MY2016 R was with upgrade radio etc...we will have too see...

Interesting that they are making the track pack equipment standard.
The 5.0l/5.2l can definitely benefit from an oil cooler. Personally if that had been the only option over a base I'd have checked that for 2017.

I'd guess the base price will rise to 54k or so. Maybe a shade more, that's not factoring gas guzzler or destination.

What do you mean by that ! I'd be more worried about Ford going crazy with base CDN pricing ! $3500 US , translates to $5K cdn. $68K is a whole lot for a base car.
Glad i got mine in base form before the price increase. Just hoping Ford or the aftermarket finds a solution to this cooling issue thing for non TP cars .

Does anyone think this will hurt the long term value/resale of the 2016 cars without coolers (base and tech)? I do. I know if it were 5 years from now and I'm in the market for a used gt350 I'm going to look for one with the coolers, because it seems Ford realized they're needed. Doesn't matter if I was gonna track it or not.

Ford was concerned with the initial price of the 350 and wanted it to be below $50K. Once the cars started to sell and options selected, along with the ADMs, Ford knew they could make an improved "base model", by adding the track package equipment. However, IMO, they will price the base model of this car @ $54,900 - once again keeping it below a certain number ($55K). I don't think there should be that much of price difference between a 2016 Track car and a base 2017. Customer loyalty is very important with these types of cars and those who purchased a 2016 track car, sometimes waiting months to get the car, paying the extra $6500, and perhaps significant ADMS, should be considered in future pricing of the 2017 MY.

Should be announced by the time the 2017 Order Banks open. Likely April 4th (confirmed for regular Mustangs, but the date may differ for GT350's).

When will dealers get their 2017 Shelby allocations from Ford?

Thanks,

Mike
