When the 2015 Shelby GT350 and GT350R was previewed to the media mid-last year, Ford made several comments to the media hinting at the formidable track capabilities of the new Ford Performance Mustang, comparing the GT350 lap times to some of the most well-respected German sports cars around.
M6G member mmm635 recently took his 2016 Shelby GT350 with track pack to the legendary Road Atlanta race track to run with some superb vehicles, including a 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 and 2016 Porsche 911 GT3RS, with the GT350 holding its own despite some very talented company.
“The GT350 brakes are phenomenal with good feel and modulation and can stop on a dime with no fade” and despite the limiting factor being the tires, mmm635, the owner of five previous Porsche 911 variants reported that his GT350 performed very well compared to these vehicles, running a top speed of 155 MPH on the back stretch of Road Atlanta.
