Late last year we showed you this build from M6G member bakerjd (Josh) whose 2015 Mustang GT has been used to develop the entire Corsa Performance system of parts.
At the time, Josh’s GT had just gotten the Corsa Xtreme catback exhaust system and he had plans to install Stainless Works 1-7/8″ longtube headers with “performance connect” off-road lead pipes.
Now that the installation is complete and we have our first listen at this full exhaust setup, Josh has just revealed that this Corsa Xtreme catback design sports a very unique double-x midpipe and he is the first one to have it installed on his 2015 Mustang GT.
The apparent inspiration behind this double-x midpipe design goes back to Corsa’s experience with that found in the C6 Corvette — the company’s R&D showed that the exhaust design not only provided more power and efficient airflow, but it had lots of acoustic benefits, acting as a muffler for improved exhaust sound and minimal drone.
