Shelby GT350R-C Looks for Comeback at COTA

Ford Performance and Multimatic Motorsports look to power the Shelby GT350R-C to a comeback performance at the penultimate round of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge today (Friday) at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) near Austin, Texas.

This comes after a disappointing result at the Virginia International Raceway last month that resulted in a second crash of the #15 GT350R-C driven by Scott Maxwell and Billy Johnson.

Both the #15 and #158 GT350R-C (driven by Buford and Cindric) teams understand the significance of this race.

“I’m looking forward to COTA,” said Buford, who hails from Texas. “As a native Texan, it does feel like a home race to me. The track is one of my favorites as well, and I believe Austin and I will have a strong package to go for the win, rain or shine.”

“With only two races remaining, we are really focused on doing everything we can to ensure we end the year with good momentum,” said Cindric, who will be racing at COTA for the first time. “Our last couple of races have been full of bad luck, so we are due for a good result. I am really looking forward to learning another new track, especially one as prestigious as the Circuit of The Americas.”

Today’s race is scheduled to last 2.5 hours and begin at 1:40PM EDT.
