2015 Mustang GT Track Day at Road Atlanta

M6G member jswenk (Jason Swenk), winner of two NASA championships for the Southeast region, recently tested his 2015 Mustang GT with performance pack at the legendary 2.54-mile, 12-turn Road Atlanta race track.

Despite the cold and wet weather, Jason logged in over 100 miles on the road course, reporting at the outset his concern that he would burn up the brake pads or experience a soft brake pedal due to the rough conditions.

Not so, as the brake pads and stock Pirelli tires withstood the punishment.  Jason reported that the tire wear was minimal and “the acceleration in the car was unbelievable. In my old car (2002 GT and 1966 Mustang) which was close to the same horsepower and weighed a lot less, the C6 Corvettes would pull away from me on the straights.  Not this time.  I was able to match their speed and hit 130s down the long back stretch of Road Atlanta.”
