Our friends and experts at Steeda Autosports recently had a chance to do some high performance track testing of Nitto Tires new NT555 G2 tires at Palm Beach International Raceway.
They also obtained some key performance braking metrics along the way.
Steeda’s testing gives us the best apples-to-apples test comparing Nitto’s existing NT555 tire to the all new G2 NT555, as Steeda brought out two S550 Performance Pack GTs with equal entry-level modifications and equipped one of them with the legacy tires. Naturally, both vehicles also had Steeda springs, Steeda IRS subframe bushing support system, Steeda cold air intake and Steeda tune.
Zero-to-60 braking data showed that the NT555 G2 tires stopped the car in 76.5 feet from 60mph which thoroughly beat the current generation NT555 which needed 96.75 feet to reach a full stop in the same test.
