The global pandemic has devastated the economy and the automotive industry is no exception, with sales of vehicles down across the line. Ford reported that Mustang sales were down 27-percent year-over-year, but there’s more to the story.
The Ford Mustang has actually performed respectably when looking at year-to-date sales numbers, down only 12.3% from the same time last year. Even more impressive, the Mustang blew away its competitors — the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger — by a wide margin.
Ford sold 15,717 Mustangs in the second quarter 2020, almost double both of its main rivals combined, with Dodge selling 9,880 Challengers and Chevrolet selling a meager 6,675 Camaros.
