Mustang EcoBoost Engines Now Made in the USA

Ford has just brought production of the new 2.3L EcoBoost engine of the 2015 Mustang home to its Cleveland Engine Plant.  Up until now, the 2.0L and 2.3L EcoBoost engines had been produced in Valencia, Spain.

While Valencia will continue to support the Cleveland Engine plant by machining and shipping components for both engines, this new development is the result of Ford investing nearly $200 million and adding 450 new jobs to support the rising demand for its EcoBoost engine lineup.

Cleveland Engine Plant also builds the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and 3.7-liter V6 rear-wheel drive application. The Ohio facility employs more than 1,300 people and has produced more than 1 million Eco Boost engines since 2009 that have been used to support Ford operations in North America, Mexico, Europe and Asia Pacific.
