Ford has announced that the new GT350 and GT350R Mustang will come standard with a Performance Shift Light indicator heads-up display with modes for Track, Tach and Drag.
Race-inspired with cues from the collision warning system found on other Ford vehicles, the Performance Shift Light system helps drivers to maximize acceleration and decrease lap times by indicating the perfect engine speed shift point all while allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the track (or road) at all times.
So far the feature is universally loved by Ford test drivers — “They can’t believe how much it reduces the distraction of having to look away to a tach or a shift light in the cluster,” said Mike Makled, electrical engineer for the Shelby programs who spearheaded this innovative feature.
