If you have to repaint some part of a car, matching the paint can be difficult. So I always wondered what happens if you have to replace the wrap on let's say a fender of a wrapped car. My gut says that batches of wrap material will vary just like batches of paint components. So would you have to live with the mismatch or redo the whole car? I mean you can't blend vinyl.
I was at Barrett Jackson and saw a lot of wrapped cars displayed by businesses as well as ones being auctioned. Every one was much less smooth than a decent paint job. The amount of light reflected was as good as paint, but the surface was like a fine orange peel on every car I saw when I got up close. Are all wraps that way?
