This sounds like sublimation. It looks like it has a thin resin clearcoat on the surface over a metal plate, right? This makes it almost impossible to scratch off the lettering or image. Several backgrounds colors are available, including brushed silver, brushed gold and others.

If we're talking about the same thing, I used to work with the guy who perfected this process. Any good local trophy or awards company should be able to do this for you. This process is used to make the nameplates for trophies (instead of engraving), room numbers and safety signs for the backs of motel room doors and things like employee-of-the-month plaques for restaurants and fast-food places.

When, is the Chassis build number assigned you the car? Can any one explane how this takes place, is it after you received your window sticker, if so Can Ford performance tell you then? Any One Know! :cheers: thanks John

I've never seen it in any of the paperwork prior to delivery. Then you can check it on the dash plaque.
