I live in NY I’m willing to travel anywhere in the US for a great price and I’m buying in early September but doing my cross shopping now

Pricing varies by region, but here in the Charlotte NC area I priced a base Magnetic, M6 2018 GT for $29.3K last Saturday, MSRP is $36,090. Unfortunately the sales guy I talked to called me Monday and said the lot was hit by a hail storm Saturday night and the car has hail dents on it, but they were going to get them pulled out, Grrrrrrr.

The lowest Koons price I see is $27,995, the window sticker shows it was que'd up 11/20/17 . I'm pretty sure they do not include the destination charge in that price so I'd presume $28,7K would be closer to their actual sale price.

By September I would presume the inventory on the '18's will be thinning out but Mustang's are exactly flying off dealer lot's and you should get one for under 29K +TTL and stealer fee's ...

Read the small print, these prices, while still good after-the-fact, are without destination, a very high doc fee, title, tags, etc. Plan on paying $2-3k over the "before all that" price (destination alone is $900).
*I've heard from some people that were able to get them to waive/lower the doc fee, which I think is in the $600-800 range.

The nice thing about Koon's Ford is that the price is already more-or-less at the lowest you'll get (after the fees), however, most dealerships will match, or come extremely close to, matching them after tags/title/doc/etc. I showed my salesman the email I received from Koon's with how much they would sell me a 2019 GT for in the same way that I had my order spec'd, said "Can you get within $500 or so of this to save me a 3-hour drive?" and I did indeed make note of Koon's ridiculous doc-fee and was sure to make it clear that I meant "what it would actually be after the destination + doc and all that". They did it. My MSRP was 53,020 (with destination), before sales tax I got it for $48k including tags, title, doc, etc.

Keep in mind that the advertised price probably includes every possible discount and you'll need to be a college student and a recent college grad and an active duty service member to qualify for that price.

Lots of places do this, but not Koons. They do not include destination (note it's ~$95 higher for 2019s vs. 2018s) or their doc fee (lower at their MD location than VA), but their doc fee is at least somewhat negotiable.

Those doc fees are an insult

Yep, Here in NC the average Stealer Doc fee is $579,

Randy Marion auto group and his merry band of cars pirates actually have the balls to advertise a $799 doc fee.

You can [and SHOULD] beat on them on the price of the car to mitigate that fee but yer' going to pay the doc fee at least here in NC..

Good news is, my dealer just emailed me that Ford added another $500 rebate good till 8/31 for a total of $3,000 on the Mustang .. So we're now at 28,8 for a base M6 GT Magnetic in color.

May I ask what rebate that is?

Also, in MN there is a maximum on how much you can charge for doc fees. It was $75 now it is $100 which I find reasonable but $500+?? Give me a break

It's Program #13294: Unfortunately rebates go by ZIP code and it doesn't appear to be available in MN, It's probably a Carolina Ford Dealer rebate as it's also available in South Carolina but not Georgia or Tennessee.

There are a lot of South Carolina dealers that either don't charge a doc fee or it's low compared to our NC Stealers, I bought my last two trucks from SC dealers and paid no doc fee's on them.
