What you mean Grandad and newborn baby?

Photo 5.jpg

PLUS, they were both produced on the same date - 19th October.
I meant the S550 as the baby, not a real one, he's far too young to drive that thing!!!!:lol:.

You've almost got twins then haven't you!

Ebay - Quirkparts

Shipped in the original Ford packaging which is just a cardboard box with no protection inside so if the box gets dropped on its end in transit the thing cracks. From what I've been told this is a common problem - Ford strike again!
I'd really love to have one of these bits for the same reason as you. (And the 50th Anniversary tail light bezels too). It's a lot of money for a majorly plastic part especially if it is poorly packaged. So will they send you another one, or is it a case of superglue? :eyebulge:

I'm still waiting for a response from the supplier. Like you say it's expensive so bloody annoying that it is not better packaged.
Once I have a response from the supplier I'll decide the options - refund, trying to see if it can be plastic welded or now I have the chrome bits you can get the grill minus those bits much cheaper.

I assume the price is down to Import, you might be able to get a US guys 'used' 50th anniversary bar, if they're willing to sell it, have a scour on the US sections, they'll probably package them better too..

Also there's a site that sells 'take-offs' from cars, that you can try and buy from - Twin Turbo you got the link for this site mate?

It's a uniquely expensive part even in the US. newtakeoff.com don't have any.

Yikes, that an expensive grille! It's a pity you want a specific Ford one, as the aftermarket are now coming up with plenty of alternative.

Thanks for the mention, MM, yep, http://www.newtakeoff.com/ is the site I linked to the other day. It may well be worth contacting them as, whilst they may not have it listed on the site, there's a chance they may be able to get one.

:)

Man! You have two Mustangs. You may have the perfect other half. :)
Of course he has the perfect other half.....who else would put up with years of spectating at rallies, races, formula 1 and help to clean the cars (only sometimes)for the weekly summer shows etc. I don't want to be a Mustang widow so we now have one each to drive.

 Mrs GregT says she finds the '65 FB a bit scary. Says she'll just drive the new Stang. AHEM! Key fight coming soon.

Mrs SteveS will have her own seat in the S550, with additional leg and arm room, and possibly handbrake responsibilities... ;)

Just had a reply from the supplier who is shipping a replacement so, hopefully, that will arrive intact.

I've not looked for the tail lights bezels but I had no success looking for the 50 Years deck lid.
