Wheel Offsets

There are a few manufacturers that make forged aluminums in custom offsets/sizes. I don't know the weights of the Forgeline offerings (perhaps they should list those on their site), but at $1500-$1700 a wheel they are at the high end of the price range.

If 18's could fit/work that would be preferable, but at what cost would have to be evaluated.

Forgeline's GA1R model at 19 x 11 would be in about the 21 lb range or so. They are laughably light.

My Forgestar F14's 19x11 @37p are 23 lbs on my M4.The stock 19x10.5 on the GT350 are about 32 lbs so there is a lot of room for improvement here.

I agree. Now just wondering if 18 s will clear the brakes. The more and more I think about it the more and more I'm thinking that's not going to happen. That's a BIG brake assembly.

I will call them on Monday.Still undecided whether to do a staggered or square setup.I also spoke to John at CCW and he thought he could do 18's with this brake setup.

I communicated with Forgeline over the weekend. They made the wheels for the GT350 test mule that we all saw testing on the Ring. I'm going with Forgelines ... either in 19s or 20s. I didn't ask yet about the offsets ...

Thats what I was figuring..the Mustang GT350 has such a high wheel (numerically) offset that I am shocked at the weight. In other words usually a 19X11 ET25 wheel will be heavier than a 19X11 ET50 with the same wheel other than the offsets.

My VMR V810s are 22lbs front and 23.7lbs rear. They are flow formed like the Forgestars.

I've heard Ford reps say several times that the Carbon wheels are 50lbs less than the GT350 aluminums. So we know the R wheels are 18lbs each. 18x4= 72 + 50 = 122 / 4 = 30.5. So I'd estimate 30-31 lbs each on the regular wheels, which is slightly lighter than the PP wheels.

If that's the case then I'm going to run square on Forgestars. Hoping the offsets for the front's are not different. The rears should be a 55mm offset since the GT350 track width on the rear is the same as the GTPP as per Ford. So the big question is just the front since that has a definite wider track than the GTPP.

Then I'll slap some Scotozero3's on the OEM's and use them as the Winter set.

I'm pretty sure the track width doesn't have anything to do with the wheel offsets. Yes the offset would make the final mm difference but the track width is set from the suspension and chassis setup.

If the LCA's poke into the wheel well's more than on a GTPP..... I guess so. Looking at the underside of the R on the video that was posted up here on these forums and the underside of the GTPP that has been available since the Autoshows. It looks like it should clear. Again not confirmed until we all have these cars with keys in hand....

It would be nice if this was the case. It would certainly give a good head start to those of us with Mustangs already who are sitting on several sets of wheel/tire combos for Summer/Winter DD, Track and show.
