What it Thatcham alarm and can I confirm that my car has it?

Hi guys

When I ordered my ecoboost I added the thatcham alarm option. I didn't really understand what it was then and I still don't. Can any of you explain to me what difference is, with or without the thatcham alarm makes?

I ordered around the switch between model year 15 and 16. The thatcham options doesn't seem to exist anymore for 16's in Sweden so I'm also interested in if there is any way to confirm that I have the thatcham alarm installed.

All EU mustangs have both perimeter + volumetric alarm. Thatcham should add a siren with backup battery.

What good is an alarm without a siren? Said Thatcham was never an option here...

I can say that all alarms I hear around here use the horn as siren.. don't know if it's due to some sort of acoustic regulations.

So does the thatcham sound a siren instead of using the horn as alarm?

Otherwise from what I read in linked manual pages I guess I can confirm that I have thatcham by locking the car, then unhooking the battery and see what happens.

For what I saw on my car when I tested the Alarm, it doesn't use the horn but a special siren for the Alarm.

I still have a lot of question about this, a lot of guys in France who bought the Thatcham option get now refound from Ford because Ford says that come standard with the ˋStang...

I haven't tried mine yet. What's the easiest way to trigger the alarm without actually braking into the car?

Do it like me, sit in your car with the window open, put 2 times on the locking key to have the maximum in the alarm and wait that the music begin

I've tried my alarm now. It sounds both the horn and a siren. So not like the previous two clips or perhaps like a combination of the two.

I'm not going to win any awards with this video, but you can hear how it sounds.
