I'm an old gear head from the mid 60's that use to power brake when drag racing a automatic. Now I'm in a 2015 V6 Mustang with the lastest and greatest sensors, throttle pedal by wire. I read my owners manual be for I do anything, just read about the automatic transmission on pg 136 and found this WEARING

Do not apply the brake pedal and accelerator pedal simultaneously.
Applying both pedals simultaneously for more than three seconds will limit
engine rpm, which may result in difficulty maintaining speed in traffic and could lead to serious injury.:gossip:

Thought I'd pass it on so others don't damage there 2015, 2016 Mustangs

I think that is just "CYA" language from Ford, intended for people who use both feet with an auto in stop and go traffic. Having said that, I doubt they would ever come out and say power braking is OK, but if you do it sparingly I don't think it will be an issue.

I've done it a few times, it helped a little with the 0-60 app but I was uncomfortable doing it. If you hold it too long it cancels the timed run.

I think but I could be wrong is there is a safety feature similar to what my Toyota has this is how it works.
The engine power will be reduced if the gas pedal is pressed and then brake pedal is pressed later. If you apply brake pedal first and then press the gas pedal, it should not cause the computer to reduce power.

I would like it as a safety feature. I have big feet, not huge, size 12, but when I first got my Acura it scared me a couple times and I thought something was wrong with it. I would be slowing down with the brake and my foot pushed the gas as well. Scared the hell out of me, so I pressed the brake some more, which also gave it more gas! And this is a powerful 4WD sedan so with all 4 wheels driving it pushes past the brakes easy. I figured it out, and have to watch my clodhoppers now.
