So I've been trying everything to get this water leak to stop and just can't seem to get it done. (keep in mind, the car was in accident on passenger side and had fender door and quarter panel replaced) It began a few months ago when I noticed a pool of water in the rear of my passenger door after I gave my car a good wash with my pressure washer. I parked the car in my garage and stopped using it. I went onto ripping apart the interior and drying out the carpet and interior door panel. With the interior out, I took it outside and did a test to see where the water was entering from and noticed a lot of it coming from the rubber weather strip between the bigger passenger side door window and the smaller quarter window and a lot coming from the front end through the A pillar column where the electric cables are clipped into the pillar via plastic white clips. I took off and reapplied the weather strip since it looked misplaced and had a big gap between the actual seal and edge of window and was able to properly align it and apply it with some 3m weatherstrip adhesive to assure it in place. I went back and retested it with water and was able to get the water to stop coming in front the back part of the window. The front however was still the same so I looked into the forums some more and saw some people had issues with the water entering the A pillar through the holes that should be covered with factory stickers. I checked mine out and noticed they both seemed to be pretty loose and wouldn't hold any water from entering. To test that this was the issue, I put duck tape over both factory tapes and made sure they were sealed to see if it would stop the water from coming in. I tested it a 3rd time with water and now the water started to come out from the upper portion of the front passenger side door (where the side view mirror touches the body when closed). I dried everything up and went back and reapplied to ensure the front side of the weather seal was correctly glued with the 3m adhesive. This did nothing and the water was still coming from the same place. The body gap alignment was always a little off from this side since the day I bought it, so I found how to align the door and was able to adjust the rear end of the door that meets the QP to sit mostly flush. The front side was also adjusted to the most inward I could push while screwing in the bolts. I also adjusted the window so it sits a little higher than before when closed and when compared to the driver side door, it matched up the same. I did the water test again, and still the water was entering quite easily from the same section. I couldn't seem to think of anything other than buying a new weather strip but was hesitant to purchase it and find out its still leaking since the price of a new one was 200$+. I decided to buy some 3M generic car weather foam strips from Amazon in 3 different sizes and applied them on the rubber section on the door near the side view mirror( the area thats allowing the water to enter) I tested it again with water and is still allowing water in from the same area. I've exhausted all avenues I can think of to fix this problem and have seriously come to the conclusion of putting it back together and selling it. It's a shame since I've really hoped to use this car and fall in love with it especially with less than 20k miles (first time Mustang owner, lifetime fan) and have already invested some upgrades since I wanted it to be my daily. Please help a fellow out, maybe there's something I haven't tried yet or done to fix this issue. Any help is welcome
You can see foam strip in second picture on the door frame and the third picture shows the duct tape covering the factory tape to close the hole.
