Do I need to clear anything out or change software or can I simply add the tune to the device the way I would add a new Bama tune?
U have to contact torrie for his custom tune

The device can hold 10 custom tune files. You can order it right here

Does the SCT X4 come pre-loaded with any OTS tunes?

Are two tunes for summer/winter necessary in Socal? We run 91 octane year round.

SCT BDX vs. SCT X4 - Which is better? I had a Bully Dog device for my Altima and it was pretty cheaply made (buttons didn't work half the time). Left it in the car once in the summer heat and it completely warped the housing to the point of total failure.

edit: Oh, and would the Denso ITV22 Iridium Plugs work as well as the NGK plugs recommended on your site?

Yes preloaded files are on every X4
You can order the total amount of custom files that you want to.
They are relative, the advantage to the BDX is that it will work on multiple brands where as the Ford X4 works on Fords only.

If he already bought the x4 from Bama first, the it's tunes will look like they are on the device, but they will be deactivated. I already went through this, I had first purchased my x4 through Bama then tried to load the ots tunes and wasn't able to because Bama disabled them. Just FYI, maybe there's another way around it

You might be able to get them back doing a factory reset. But I do not shut off that functionality in the devices I sell.

I realize I can order as many as I want, I'm just trying to figure out how many I need to order. If I NEED both the summer and winter in SoCal because the tune is so specific to weather conditions, than I'll budget for that. If I really only need one year round than maybe I can use a second for economy, but maybe I need three?. I haven't purchased anything yet, just trying to understand all the options for the different tuners.

You get 2 for $ 149 start with that, if you need a third you can order it later. More specifically that climate would need just the S file.

Torrie, I installed the summer tune I bought from you today. When I was about to load it, I noticed the options, which I really like. On the shift line pressures, do those options only affect line pressures during shifts, or do they affect them all the time? Also, how much increase is safe? I don't want to jack the pressure up all the time when it's not needed, all that does is put extra strain on the pump and unnecessarily heat the fluid.

I would not change anything on the front end, you can alter it if you want to increase or decrease specific shift pressure.

Noooooooooo! With the Unleashed tune you should not need to adjust ANYTHING. The tune shifts hard enough. It will throw you back when shifting anyway. Don't touch anything..

Well, it doesn't throw me back. I don't want a huge torque spike that will bust the halfshafts, but I like a quick "thunk" type of shift like you get with an older hydraulically controlled 3 spd with a mild shift kit in it. It's not a big bang, but it's quick. I have not changed any of that stuff except I limited engine rpm in neutral to 2500, as I see no reason to rev it higher than that when it's not in a drive range.

There are specific tunes for summer and other times of the year? I need one tune for all weather as the weather here in Michigan can change very quickly
