The Z06 is overkill. The standard Corvette has more than enough power. No regrets buying my C7. I feel blessed to just own it.

No, bad, stop it lol I hate that word Standard. It's as bad as Base lol. It's like saying I bought a base Aventador.

I can't wait for that redline to shrink after shift on my way home. She will fully unleash in the morning.

Sadly I have yet to exceed 4k rpm because I'm trying to do everything proper with this car but it embarrasses my previous Challenger and Mustangs at even just half throttle.

Same here, but you know how it is.... There's always an itch, it just takes awhile to develop.. I'll probably keep this car stockish and hold onto it, it has everything I need. So far I've lowered it and tuned it and put on an aFE intake. It's running good as it is. One of the big reasons I sold my C6 Grand Sport for it was the interior amenities. I had a 3LT and it only had Bluetooth for phone, no A2DP stereo streaming, which was a pain. Just about everything else too, the interior and electronics were barely revised since they were designed in 2003 for the 2005 model introduction.

My C7 order came in on March 6th so I've had awhile to drive it and just about the only thing I can say I don't care for with the car is the attention it gets. All the stares and thumbs up and and people pulling into gas stations to look at the car and tell me that they didn't need gas. It was a very funny summer for sure, the car get soo much attention, which is fine. The only ones I don't like are the guys that video you when you're driving in traffic. I've almost been hit twice by these morons.

Agreed I've had people diving through traffic to record video and get pictures.

One girl ran out in a downpour yesterday while I was sitting outside my work she came running over to take pictures.

The first day I drove it to work and I was sitting outside I had a guy drive off the curb on his bicycle and face plant.

I had a guy follow me light to light and kept talking to me.

Numerous BMW/Honda ricer fly bys.

Numerous times going to the store and coming out to someone just staring at it...

When I first got it my wife did not believe my stories of these encounters. So, I took her on an hour or so long ride. During that time we had no less than a dozen honks/thumbs up/"Nice car!" comments from other drivers and blatant stares. We stopped at a craft store and when we came out thee of her former students that were now graduating high school were taking pictures of themselves by it. They were shocked she was coming out to the car so I let them sit in it and take more pictures.

Then, we went to home depot and she stayed in the car while I ran in. When I came out a car was parked next to her with a woman standing by my car. Ends up the woman was talking to my wife the whole time as she saw us pull into the parking lot. They had a C2 and she had to come tell my wife how much she loved the C7 and see it in person.

From that day on she didn't doubt me when a quick trip to the gas station takes 45 minutes to an hour. LOL

Just hit my 500 mile break in and the annoying 4500 redline is gone. I shot a short video of the milestone. It changes towards the end of the video its the yellow and red dot line above the Tach.

This feature does return after the break in to show that the oil is not up to temp. As you drive the line slowly ticks away while the oil warms up. Its a pretty cool feature.

Indeed sir and sadly a few people here are a little blinded. The LT1 is extremely impressive and in all regards will probably be dropped the the 2016 Camaro...then Ford is playing catch up again. I think the 2015s should have received the 5.2 and cut out this silent campaign and building a car for today instead of a car for the future.

I haven't fallen this hard for a car since my 2008 GT

I've taken the Red(Dodge) Blue(Ford) and Yellow(Chevy) pills so I'm seeing a fair spectrum.

Ford likes to play things safe and wait and then go AHA! GOT YA to the competition.

Dodge likes to make small changes or hold certain features until the next model year to get you to want to buy a new car every year. Then they just follow in Fords footsteps with the Hellcat(GT500)

Chevy can't make up its mind on saving money or giving a quality product.

But you have to honestly look at the scenario. The GT350 comes out next year along with the new Camaro. Any chance the 5.2 will make it to the GT next year are slim to none. That means. the 2016 Camaro is getting lighter and possibly the LT1. Currently the NEW Mustang and current Camaro are neck and neck performance wise. I just don't see Ford answering for another 2 years.

Which is why I say Ford is now playing this catch up game. Instead of being the first ones out there with something they sit back and answer years later.

I would rather Ford be out front while the other two are playing catch up. Trust me I still love Ford and still hate the slowmaro/rest of GM lineup but I can admit when Ford is doing a terrible job.

Why does the Hellcat get released with all info even BS drag times that are off by a whole second and no one cares they were wrong but Ford says "Here's our 2016 GT350..."and no info but "should be more then"

It's sad. The bs trickling of info that happened with the 2015 Mustang release is exactly how the GT350 release will go...no thanks.

Well, to be honest, the structure is complicated. I've had it explained by an insider friend and there are some crazy dealings that go on.

Chevrolet is a lot like GM in the sense that it is not one company but a group of companies. The employees that are engineers and designers of the Corvette will rarely ever say they work for Chevrolet or GM, they say they work for "Corvette". It is it's own business unit and does what it will with it's budget that is given. They usually get a really good budget on the redesigns, but they come at a slower interval than what would be preferred. For the C7 they knew they had to up the game this time or it would probably be the last Corvette generation ever.

It's also part of why you won't see bowties all over the car other than inside the crossed flags.

Curious, have you thought about lowering it?

The nice thing with the Corvettes is that with a jack, jackstand and a 10mm wrench you can adjust the ride height. I got about 3/4 of an inch drop with the stock suspension, but mine came sitting a little higher than others since they use a range for the acceptable height value.
