UK car meet groups...

Is it just me, or are most of these UK groups run by people who think they are running F1 or something? It's a bunch of people showing up in a car park. Get over yourself. I won't mention specific groups, but they are just so inhospitable. I'm close to giving up.

I can’t say I’ve ever been to any group meets. What is the general idea with them - simply for Mustang owners to get together and talk about and show off their cars? Or are they meant to be more structured?

I've never been to one either. They can either be static or include an organised drive. But generally, yes you walk around and talk about the cars there.

Well, that’s all a bit moody and definitely isn’t something you would expect. In my experience, just speaking to people in the petrol garage for example, that kind of behaviour isn’t generally representative of Mustang owners and enthusiasts, so the organisers could be shooting themselves in the foot there. Hopefully not all meets are like that though.
