Tyre Choice for 2.3 Ecoboost

My 2.3 EcoBoost requires new tyres.

I am assuming the current Pirelli from factory are not RunFLAT - can't see any markings to indicate so.

Shopping around and the best I can find is £134.81 per tyre.

Has anyone used any other brands on the car? Would like a tyre to compare pricing too.

Top choice seems to be Michelin pilot super sport which if you shop around you can get for around £180 a tire. Someone posted a Michilen promotion the other day where you get £75 back (as a fuel card) if you were to but a full set so pretty reasonable prices for the "best" tyre you can get right now.

Nope, Pirelli's are NOT run flat (I learn't this the hard way)

Michellin pilot Super Sports are 'the best' currently, when Michellin release the PS4S in our sizes they'll take the corwn but by no means will it turn MPSS' to 'rubbish'.

Asda tyres you can get 10% off using a certain 'key' (1401234567) when booking in.
[MENTION=15533]slowhand99[/MENTION] posted a link to a Michelin fuel card that gives you £75 on tyres, not sure what retailers of fuel it's available at, but that also helps.

Costco also run deals throughout the year on certain tyres.


Bare in mind that MPSS are being discontinued (slowly) over the forthcoming year, so availability will begin to wain as PS4S increases.


There's other tyres people have opted for, however MPSS handle as good if not better than a Pzero in 'good' conditions, and in rain/wet.grease they grip like a mother trucker

As Manders said MPSS are your best bet, I have these, much better than the P zero's.

The spare wheel can be bought and fitted to the EB but it's an eye watering £300.00 + from A few UK suppliers,
I will be buying one when the £££ allow for piece of mind.
