I'm aware of the 5 year rule. That's why I mentioned the CHP. Having a loud exhaust gives them probable cause to check your engine bay for aftermarket parts. In theory they can have your car towed on the spot for this occurrence. Either way you will have to have your car returned to stock and inspected at a Ref station in order to get it back on the road.

I bought a 2015 Ecoboost used from Dealer in December of 2015, they registered and I dont know if they smogged it. When will I have to smog it , I dont get the 5 years do I ?

Maybe get a radar and don't hammer the car when cops are around? Tbh, I think cops only pull over the import crowd for obnoxiously loud exhausts. I have a bike that's cammed/exhaust, i wear earplugs to ride because it is fucking loud, guess I'm just lucky haven't been pulled over yet.

If you bought it new you should be okay. If you got the car in December maybe your registration will come around august/september. If there are no smog requirements you're good.
