Torque app for data logging?

I don't have a '16 but you can monitor anything with a PID, so yes. There is a nice custom gauge screen that lets you add a gauge, select the style for the gauge and put in all the parameters for it, very flexible.

Nice! Any idea what the PID is for engine oil temp? I searched before to try to find it for the torque app as you can also add PIDs, but didn't have any luck.

Well crap, now that I looked it up to give you the PID, it looks like it isn't supported. As I mentioned, the app is very flexible, it has a list of all PIDs and PIDs that are supported. The PID for Engine Oil Temperature is SAE.EOT

List of supported temperature PIDs are:
SAE.AAT Ambient Air Temperature
SAE.CATEMP11 Catalyst Temperature Bank 1, Sensor 1
SAE.ECT Engine Coolant Temperature
SAE.IAT Intake Air Temperature

I'll have to look into it to see if I'm doing something wrong or have to select something to get the other PIDs. Maybe something as simple as select platform or something. There were about 26 temperature PIDs alone.

I emailed the support for DashCommand and asked about this. He said that the app supports any PIDs the vehicle supports. It validates the PIDs by talking to the vehicle. So when I look in the app, I see the whole list of PIDs, the app verifies which PIDs the vehicle supports and marks those available. If he's right, no app would be able to support oil temp.

Thanks for trying anyways. Torque does the same: Lists all of the standard PIDs, then highlights in green the ones that are supported. I'm assuming engine oil temp in our cars is a non-standard PID naming convention. However, the car shows engine oil temp on the dash, it just doesn't show the quantified data; just the white, green, yellow, red gauge. I know what the range is for each gauge, just hoping to add engine oil temp and diff temp(I've already received a warning through the dash about the rear diff fluid temp). Oh well, I'll keep looking.

OBDLink allows you to import the PID, but have yet to get it to read.

Yes, I was able to create a gauge in DashCommand with that PID but it wouldn't display anything.

Mine wont connect to my phone. When I go to the settings on my phone it is seeing the adapter and it asks for a code but wont connect.

torque will only work if you have rooted your phone (at least, that's how it was 4 years ago the last time I used it)

That's where I was at when I first posted Hopefully someone can figure it out. The sensors obviously exists, I just don't want to have to tap into the actual ECU to access it as I'm trying real hard to keep my warranty intact for now.
