Looks like no if they are not driving.
Correct - this promoter only allows coaching up and coaching down (i.e. between registered participants in different run groups). Exception is a paced parade lap section where anyone can jump in, even take their car on the track without being registered for the event. But this is a conga line that travels at about 50% of race pace...

Here's some pics from last weekend at the same track this April 13th event will be. Nice this time of year....green grass, sun, and not yet hot.

Nice! Only thirteen more days, I can't wait. Kind of bummed my wheels are delayed though, I wanted to switch to summer tires before hitting the track.

HOLY SHIT! So yeah, I'm addicted. It was a learning experience for though for sure. During the first session I was so slow I had to point EVERYONE by. It was incredibly humbling, and I wasn't quite prepared for that. Second time out I relaxed and started learning the apexes. No one passed me the second time out. By the third time out I was actually getting point by's and that was a really good feeling.

On a side note, I don't think I want to wear a rental helmet again. Going to need to get some supplies and register for another event!

Glad you had fun! I couldn't make it because I got dive-bombed by work, but sounds like weather ended up being OK, and a good time.

Welcome to the lovely addiction of open tracking

Just in the last 2 years, this addiction has cost me $12K in parts for my S550, and another chunk for this new addition to the fleet, that just arrived yesterday...

Nice Thunder Roadster!:headbang: They are so much fun for the price. I have an older body style, and my roomate has 2 older body styles and one GP body with a hyabusa. Actually going to Global Time Attack tomorrow for fun with my mustang and his TR.

What motor in your TR?

Thanks, Chris! I actually recognize your name from some of the research I did on the TR beforehand, I think from the NASA forum, or maybe GRM.

I bought Eric Schmidt's car from Florida, he ran ST3 out East with the crew that really knows these things, like Firouz Haghighi. It has a Gen 1 Hayabusa motor. It'll take me a little time to set up the car, baseline maintenance, and get comfortable in it, but I'm very much looking forward to the process :D
