Well, we had our 2015 out at the Mile this past weekend, but we couldn't get it dialed in to make any runs. There was tons of interest, and hundreds of folks got to see it.

We also had our 2012 Shelby out there, and were able to get a few passes. We had severe traction issues, but still managed multiple 165 to 170mph half mile passes. Unfortunately, we were out of gear and tire at about the 3/4 mile mark. (27" tire and 3.55 gear with a 7400rpm limiter). Right at 200mph, and coasted through the rest of the mile.

This was our first mile event, and we definitely learned a lot in terms of the track down there, and what is required to run these speeds. Congrats to Kinetik Motorsports for running 217mph in their S197.

We'll have both cars back out in March. :)

Sweet, thanks for the post.

My buddies dad goes to this religiously - think he is sponsored.
Yellow Z06.

Looks like so much fun and its relatively cheap as well. I hear the after party is quite fun as well!

Can't wait to see what the 15 does. While I have you here what do you think that stock block and internal can handle?

I ran in an open portion of an Unlim 500 event. What a rush! If you enjoy the 1/4 you'll love the full mile. I ran 34 sec in my old XKR and and Underground Racing tuned Gallardo ran 403 kmh at 22 sec.

Hope they do it again so I can run it in the Stang :)

Back in 2011 I managed to convince my girl to drive with me from VA to TX to run the Texas mile and it was epic. I only managed two runs and did a best of 154mph in my then hardly-modded 5.0. I'll post the in-car videos when I get home from work.

Yeah, we sponsor as well. It's a lot of fun, and at night, it really gets cranked up. :) I have some video and pics. I'll post them up later. lol

The stock block should handle around what the Boss block handled. It's got the Boss crank and rods, but with cast pistons (although supposedly stronger). I would say 650ish on pump gas, and 750ish on race gas/E85.

It definitely took some getting used to.. lol

I've been drag racing for a long time, and it took me a few passes to work up the courage to go blast full tilt for 1 mile. The car ran great, though, and we kept it wheel-side down. :)
