So, I finally got around to installing my T56 swap into my 2015 Procharger Mustang. Bye bye MT82.
I went with the 2.66 1st and .50 6th, knowing I'd need a better gear in the back. Well using my factor 3.73's and 28.4" rear tires (305/35r20) I just want others to know that you do need more gear. I have near 2000 miles on my setup and without really revving it up in first, I always bog the car - it always drops near 1000rpms which sucks but once it builds up rpms it's fine. In fact, once in motion, 1st - 5th is pretty useable but 6th is a little tricky since my car does not like to cruse around 1600rpms on the fwy. The car just hates it! It works when I'm around 80-85mph and nearing 2K but that's not realistic imo.
So after a month of research I decided to invest in some Yukon 4.56's (they're an hour from me) and based on my drag tire size and rpms I'm about 135mph in 4th on a 27.8" w/7500rpm's and about 140+mph at 8k. Seems like my quarter mile 'might suffer' but I do have 5th still... yet, I'm confident city driving and just having fun all round would be greater with this gear and a centri car; even on the fwy at 2100rpms should net 75mph.
But just recently, I started to ponder 4.11's ONLY because of 1/4-mile speed and time. My goal is 9.9@140+ but I really don't know what the mph is for a high 9-second pass (manual car only).
So, my question, should I keep the 4.56's -don't fear the gear- or see if I can swap them out for 4.11's? I'm getting in my head lately. Anyone have this same transmission setup?
