Curious - as the title says, what would be the symtoms that I have my belt too tight?

Currently my regular driving hp (foot and butt dyno) and gas mileage is way down. I need to put more pressure to the pedal to get the same feedback in the car as it was NA - car feels more lethargic (missing the response of the 373 gears. Shift points/rpm have changed.

Maybe this is to be expected behavior of another belt pulling on the crank?

Could being tuned for a different gear ratio cause these symtoms?

Usually right after a blower install gas milage is way down... (or any F/I)
Because people are playing with the throttle way more then they used to.

However, afer that period wears off, everything goes back to normal.
And usually people speak about improved milage.

I know you don't run our tune but....

your car has factory widebands, that always do fuel correction.
(should be running the same afr as it did stock while driving)
and your timing tables while driving in "none boost" conditions should also be almost if not totally stock.
(and the knock sensors can add or remove as needed)

I would say check for the obvious...
vacuum leaks,
tube not connected all the way,
etc

Thanks, I will walk through and check everything out again (have about 150 miles on the setup. Adjusted the belt a little tighter at about 75 miles. why I questioned if maybe it was too tight

Tested the highway miles yesterday with an effort to drive as easy as possible. Doing maybe 20 mpg highway 6th gear 65/70 mph. Seems like the pull back when letting off the throttle is slightly more pronounced then before, need more throttle then before to hold RPMs up.

Heading off to check myself

Its a spring loaded tensioner.
So as long as you didn't bottom the tensioner totally out... you should be good.

:)

PROTIP: Just something I do, is tension the belt when the motor is fully warm. The engine will "grow" with heat, so as it gets hotter, the belt gets tighter as the center to center distance increases from crank pulley to blower pulley.

As ProchargerTECH said once the engine warms up the belt gets a bit tighter .. I reset mine one time at 100 miles and have not had to touch it even after 100+ passes down the drag strip and about 4000 miles ..
