the switchback turn signal fell into the light housing and i can't get it out because obviously its a small hole. I'm guessing it was loose. would it be best to take off the bumper or do you think i can take off the led housing and take it apart with the bumper still on? thanks guys

Seems this is still an issue with the Diode Dynamics Switch Backs. I'd like to see them removed from sale until they are made right. Seems the factory in China that these are made in, can't figure out how to get plastic and aluminum to stick to each other. While DD will refund the money spent or send another set of switch backs, that doesn't compensate the buyer for the aggravation and time spent fishing the other half out of the housing. I say pull 'em from the market before DD gets a tarnished reputation for these units. I have yet to install mine because I keep reading about the recased units still separating.

From the OP description I don't think the bulb fell apart but more just came out of the socket. Either will be a pain in the butt, you could try using a small magnet to fish it out. It will be a pain but might be a lot easier than taking the bumper off.

Please tell me that by posting the magnetic pickup tool, "we" are not settling" for the Switchbacks falling out of the socket.

I had the issue, didn't think of a magnetic tool to get it out. Disassembled the entire light assembly to get it out. A pain, I agree. Save the time, buy the magnetic tool for $5

I did get a new set from DD, and they are working fine. It was a hassle, but the switchbacks look awesome.

My switchbacks seated very well. I had to push (not too hard) to get them in, they were very snug. To pull them out took some effort. I think if they are loose when you go to install them, just contact the manufacturer.

No, we are not. DD has already redesigned the socket and is incredible with the replacement support. I haven't had any problems with the new design, but if there ends up being one I am certain DD will do what is needed.

I wish they would make the bulbs less bright. Im on the fence and that's what's stopping me.
