I love my Roush CAI, my car actualy chirps shifting 2nd in sport mode, Definitely happy with it. I did have to relearn driving a little as far as throtle response but I love it now, Neve unplugged my battery for car to relearn anything
can you elaborate on what you mean by having to relearn the throttle response?

with the bigger filter and open box if you are timid or easy on the gas pedal it may feel like its sluggish when first applying gas due to drawing more air it takes a diffeent application of throttle, once i realized that the car drive fantastic. without it throttle i geuss was more response with less pedal input due to the less amout of air. I basically use the gas pedal a little differently... Once i add the BBK throttle body to balance out the extra air Im sure it will make the pedal more presise I guess you can say. But i LOVE it.. it never chirped 2nd before when shifting

that's interesting because that is exactly what i'm talking when i say it's sluggish. i feel like before if i barely pressed on the gas it would take off. now, i have to step on it a little more in order for it to respond.

Hmm. This makes me rethink it. I came from a luxury car, so I don't want it to be loud. Some have said it's as quiet as stock when driven normally. Do u guys agree with this? I'm totally OK with it being louder when I step on it. I haven't even done so yet. My car still has less than 200 miles on it!

yes i definitely agree. it's as quiet as stock when cruising. you'll only hear it when you step on it.

A/F ratio is off until the car is tuned for a CAI, I.E a little fuel needs to be added to balance it back out correctly so the cars computers dont sit there and say "hold up, whats going on"

My car is Silent when at idle and driven normal it sounds stock, the more aggressively you put your foot down the louder the car will be.

Is this something the computer would re-learn but unplugging the battery for a min to reset or is something a tune is needed to Completely balance out? Honestly TO me i wouldnt sweat it unless i was neurotic or trying to get the absolute most out of the car for all those light to light races. LOL

Hey theredmeadow, it does seem very strange the differences people report when the same boltons are installed by different folks on similar cars. Other than a jacking rail it's my only mod so far. I do race the eighth mile occasionally, what I need to do is go on grudge night and make a couple of passes then swap the stock airbox back on. I hear that Ford designed the fly by wire pedal setup with some delay action, this is what you could be feeling. In fact you can buy a product called PedalMax that will eliminate the throttle delay. If anyone has tried it I'd like to know how well it works. At $250 it seems a little pricey to me.

I just finished my Roush CAI instal, and man does it sound great! You can really hear it howl passing 3k, seems to of woken up the throttle response a bit. Anyone who's on the edge on getting one, I don't think you will be disappointed. Happy modding

when you say it woke it up, do you feel that you need to step down harder/further on the pedal to get the power?

I have one for sale here. It is worth it just for the sound. I only took off because I went with a Procharger.

Not necessarily, under normal driving it has taken away the slight hesitation off the line. Even more fun to drive in sports mode.
