Have finally got my rims into the shop to have the tires mounted..Thought I would share some photos.. This process had me concerned somewhat because all four of my tires would be mounted on maximum(per tire spec) width rims. I wasn't certain if I'd be pleased with the stretched look. The rims are SVE S350 gloss graphite (2) 19"x10" and (2) 19"x11". Tires are (2) 255/40/19 Continental ExtremeContact Sports and (2) 285/40/19 Pirelli Pzeros. The pics were taken mostly in a manner to demonstrate how much stretch has resulted..thx

Thanks..yeah next ones are on the car but first have jacking rails and rear shocks to get done....Never said this but ended up with smaller footprint tires because I got them so cheap(under $600)..two were closeouts and two were incorrectly listed on ebay..

Looks fine to me.
But if you didnt like the stretched look, could put the 275 on the front and get 305/35/19 for the rear- a couple michelin and nitto options

Actually didn't take long to get use to the stretched look...I think the Pirellis in the rear look great at a 285/40 but the conti's up front at 255/40 are a little small appearing and dont handle that well..plan is to go with a 265/40 Pirelli up front if i keep the rims..
For some reason i cant stop thinking about getting a set of the Shelby cs5s..they look like an awesome rim.. View attachment 468767

While yes they are technically on the limit of being safe based on the tire manufacturer, the tread is indeed stretched. Looking right at the picture you posted with the level (aka wheel), there is a big gap between the top of the tread and where the level sits. This is all wasted space as you could have had that much more contact patch without sacrificing any clearance.

Well the tread isn't actually stretched but quite parallel to the road surface..The sidewall has a "limit Zero 0" bulge according to the wheel shop that mounted them. I use to think they were stretched according to my experiences with purchasing wheels and tires ..though after I researched what a stretched tire really is I realized I'm not far from it.. Also if I could do it over I'd probably spend a bit more and make better use of the wheel width.
