Stupid question

When reattaching the end link to the strut...do you use the rearward or forward bracket on the strut?

I messed up when putting my springs on with attaching the end links to the wrong holes (i think) and now that i just did my sway bar there are paint marks on both rear and forward holes so i cant see which ones were oem placement for the end links in the front. I see in some DIY video that some cars use the front and some use the rear holes on the strut.

This is for a ecoboost with performance package if that matters

If anyone has a ecoboost with performance package and can check theirs it would be awesome of you

On the left and right of the sticker on top there are brackets for the end links.

This DIY from CJPP shows him taking the end link off the rear bracket (passenger side)

This is my passenger side. Notice no paint rings from the OEM bolt on the rear, only on the front (passenger side)

Could Ford maybe be placing the end links in a different spot for performance package mustangs?

I believe you want it in the rear hole. There was someone who modified his front bar and used the front hole to make the link straight, but stock it's the rear hole (the one you can see in your 3rd pic). They have the symmetrical bracket there so that they can used the same p/n on left and right.

Not 100% because I haven't done this myself, but the swaybar link should be close to vertical at ride height (which, for the stock swaybar location, would be on the rear hole). See following thread for the info I was referring to:

Ok thanks...I will just use the hole that makes it the most vertical and call it a day
